(Nurse | Melbourne, Australia | 49yo)

FTV:  How long have you been working as a nurse in Australia?

CSB:  14 years as nurse at private practice

FTV:  What do you like about your job?

CSB:  Being able to create life-changing experiences for my patients. As a nurse, the most rewarding aspect is to be able to support them at their most vulnerable point with my kindness.  To provide opportunity to be able to make a difference in their lives

FTV:  Anong prinsipyo mo sa trabaho at sa buhay?

CSB:  Grit is the ultimate denominator to success.

FTV:  Paano mo hinaharap ang mga stressful na sitwasyon sa trabaho at sa buhay?

CSB:  I take each situation as it comes, practice deep breathing, and assure myself that this too shall pass.  I love exercise and I do it before work. I either do boxing, HIIT or strengthening class.  It has improved my heart and lung capacity. It helps me focus, allowing me to make the best decisions.

FTV:  How do you want people to perceive you and to remember you?

CSB:  A woman of character with a winning personality! To be someone else’s sunshine in human form. I try to display positivity on the outside that rubs off onto other people.

FTV:  Anong pinaka malaking challenge ang pinagdaanan mo sa buhay?

CSB:  When my role model passed away, my mom, my world crumbled. At some stage, my once happy personality went away. It took a while before I got it back. She was my rock!

FTV:   Anong natutunan mo from it?

CSB:  Life is short, make the most out of it. Don’t stress about the future, live in the present and make it beautiful. Be happy 💕

FTV:  What are the top three most important things in your life right now?

CSB:  Family.  Health.  Friendship

FTV:  What would you say are your top three strengths?

CSB:  Authenticity. Compassion. Dedication

FTV:  What do your friends say about you?/ How do they describe you?

CSB:  Very thoughtful and sweet, friendly, a genuine and trustworthy friend. I always put others before myself.  I have the most infectious laughter! They call me Li’l Beast or Mighty Mouse at the gym and  Miss Congeniality because I don’t want to leave anyone behind! I am simply “Inday for all Seasons.”

People say I’m thoughtful. They also say I’m energetic, full of life, that’s why they like being around me.

This is from my friend Megan: “[Cheryl] ensures that each and every person in [her] life feels valued and worthy of all good things in their lives. She is an open book; honest and trustworthy; empathetic and sincere; [she] wears her heart on her sleeve.”

FTV:  What do you want to achieve before you die?

CSB:  I want to make a difference in someone’s life! That would be my greatest contentment

FTV:  Kung hihingian ka ng mensahe para sa mga Pilipino sa iba’t ibang panig ng mundo, anong maaari mong sabihin?

CSB:  Laban lang! Kung kinaya ko mas lalong kaya ninyo!

FTV:  Any other thing you want to say/ add (could be about anything):

CSB:  I want women to be more aware of perimenopause and menopause, and be able to survive their midlife meltdown. It is for women my age, late 40’s.  It can also start earlier in their 30’s, and later in their 50’s.  Some are unaware of what’s happening in their bodies. It can cause physical, emotional and mental havoc in women’s lives. Women crave connection with other women. Let your girlfriends in. Encourage your friends to open up and share your most intimate thoughts and feelings, go deep and even deeper with connection. That’s why it is really important to have female friendships at this point in our lives.
