Ski Resorts Are In Jeopardy Due To Coronavirus

Summer is basically over and the snowfall is almost on its way. The temperature is getting lower but COVID-19 cases are still rising. The ski resorts will have a hard time running their businesses when winter comes.

The ski resorts are trying to reduce skiers per day. Blue Mountain in Ontario and Mont Tremblant in Quebec are prioritizing season ticket holders and will limit the amount of visitors. Premier Doug Ford announced the restriction and gathering limits in Toronto, Peel Region and Ottawa. If the cases continue to rise before winter, this could affect ski places and resorts.

The ski lifts and gondolas can easily be exposed to Coronavirus. Resorts will require face masks indoors and other areas that require a lineup. Visitors can only purchase tickets online. Ski areas have to put ski lessons on hold for visitors. Resort management will surely impose avoiding human contact between resort staff and skiers.

2020 has been an unpredictable year worldwide. Ski resorts are preparing for whatever this pandemic will hand to them.
