Toronto shops take part in the fight against COVID-19

Some grocery shops in the city have taken extra steps to offer better service to their customers, especially to seniors, and the vulnerable.

Walmart Canada and Shoppers are among the shops that have announced it’s providing an exclusive shopping hour for seniors and people with disabilities so that they can avoid the huge crowd of shoppers and the long lineups.

Walmart has also announced through email sent to its customers that they will be hiring 10 000 more employees as it experiences an increase in demand for pickup and deliveries. Shoppers will also offer a 20% Seniors Day discount on their regular priced items for the first hour each day.

As of today, the province has a total of 503 cases including eight recoveries and six deaths. With this, the government is continuing to emphasize the importance of staying home and only going out for essential purchases and of course social distancing.
