Ontario classrooms ban cellphones

Cellphones are officially banned inside the classrooms. The restriction was announced earlier this year and has now been in effect.

The decision that was part of the Ford government’s education reform was supported by the majority, including parents, teachers, and even some of the students.

Ontario’s Minister of Education, Stephen Lecce, says that this is to avoid distractions inside the classrooms.

They are hoping to change the behaviour of the students in schools and make them focus more on learning. And of course, eventually learn to be more responsible when it comes to using these devices at school.

The students will only be able to use their phones in class if it is required or if their teachers instruct them to do so.
