The government has prepared an evacuation flight for Canadians stranded in Wuhan, China.
As of today, the federal government is waiting for approval from the Chinese government to bring Canadians home. The flight will only allow Canadian citizens with valid Canadian passports to board the plane as well as permanent residents who are travelling with children.
According to health officials, a screening will be done in China before they board the plane. Passengers will also be monitored closely inside the aircraft and another screening will take place as they arrive the military base.
All returning individuals, including flight crews, will be sent to the Canadian Forces Base in Trenton, Ontario to be quarantined for 2 weeks as part of the measures to prevent the spread of the virus, Global Affairs Canada says.
