City of Toronto issues extreme weather alert, temperature to drop -17 C overnight

The warm winter we had in January looks like the opposite of this month.

Environment Canada says temperature will fall to -17 C overnight. This will feel like -25 C with the wind chill. The cold drop of temperature has made the City of Toronto issue an extreme weather alert. Emergency warming centres are open for people out on the street.

Yesterday’s continuous snowfall left a messy commute to drivers. The city’s snow clearing team is still out doing rounds to plow snow on the roads.

The weekend will be a bit warmer and brighter according to Environment Canada. A high of -8 C on Saturday and -1 C on Sunday.
