Decal Bros: From Struggle to Stickers

Kabuhayan | by Anjo

Life in Canada was tough for Anthony Sabala. There were days he couldn’t pay rent. Sometimes, his income would be seized because of debt. “Wala silang pakialam kung may pambayad ka. Kinuha nila,” he says.

But in that low point, something sparked.

Anthony and his brothers started small. During the pandemic, they bought a cheap sewing machine and stitched face masks. No experience, just effort. Customers asked for custom logos. That’s when they learned how to make stickers and print on fabric.

They kept learning. From a tiny sticker business, they bought a small printer. Later, a bigger one. Soon, people were asking for car decals, wall graphics, banners, and signage.

That’s how Decal Brothers was born.

They started from home. It was cramped and messy, but they pushed through. Anthony worked full-time, cleaned schools, sold custard cakes, and delivered newspapers. All while growing the business little by little.

Today, Decal Bros offers full branding services: car wraps, shirts, window graphics, even floor decals. It’s now Anthony’s full-time job, and his part-time cleaning job is slowly phasing out.

He compares learning business to dominoes. “Once you learn one thing, you’ll want to try another. Sell it. Then learn again.”

Their goal is big: to build their own sign manufacturing shop, combining signage with metalwork. And Anthony believes they’ll get there.

“Dream big,” he says. “Even if you miss, you’ll still hit something along the way.”
