Where Music Begins: Anjo’s Story at Long & McQuade

Every Filipino musician in Canada has a Long & McQuade story.

Mine began 20 years ago. We had no budget, just a head full of melodies and dreams that needed mics, an audio interface, and a stand. We found everything—plus a little encouragement—at Long & McQuade.

It’s more than a music store. It’s a launchpad. A cultural landmark. A quiet witness to thousands of musical beginnings.

I bought my first guitar there. Paid for it through their famous payment plan because, well, I was broke. But I walked out with a guitar I couldn’t afford but badly needed. That kind of access? That’s how dreams become demos, and demos become albums.

On tour in Winnipeg, our keyboard broke before a UDD show. It was a Sunday—everything else was closed. Except Long & McQuade. They saved the night, and maybe the show.

From coast to coast, their 90+ stores aren’t just selling gear—they’re keeping the music alive.

Whether you’re jamming, recording, or just walking in to be inspired, Long & McQuade is Canada’s unofficial home for musicians. It’s where creativity finds its tools, and passion finds its purpose.

It’s not just a store. It’s where stories begin.
