Trudeau and Ford, secure agreement with 3M to produce more N95 masks

The federal government and the Ontario government has announced that it reached an agreement with 3M to increase the production of N95 masks at a facility in Brockville, Ont.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford has mentioned several times on his news briefings the need to ramp up production of personal protective equipment for the province. According to the premier, frontline workers are in a short supply of PPEs particularly N95 masks.

Both the federal and the provincial government chipped in $23.3 million each to help the 3M plant to produce a target of 100 million N95 masks a year.
