Small businesses in Toronto had been struggling since the coronavirus pandemic started. On November 23, 2020, certain regions in Ontario, such as Toronto and Peel entered a second lockdown.
The City of Toronto posted on their social media page. “#CityofTO will re-open registration for CurbTO temporary parking pick-up zones to help support main street businesses while Toronto is in the Grey – Lockdown category of the Province of Ontario’s #COVID19 response framework.”
The CurbTO, a program for parking pick-up zones, is once again available for main street businesses. Customers are allowed to park and pick up pre-purchased products from establishments. Businesses can apply to get a temporary parking pick-up zone for their facility.
Businesses within Toronto are just trying their very best to survive in this very unusual and unprecedented time. On the other hand, the Toronto government tries to help the community in the midst of this global pandemic.
