Heavy snow with strong winds to hit the city this afternoon

Looks like Toronto and the GTA can expect more winter weather coming as February ends.

Environment Canada has issued a snow squall watch for the city and some other parts of the GTA – Mississauga, Hamilton, Oakville, and Burlington. Snow squalls are brief and intense snow showers with strong and gusty winds.

According to the national weather agency, the snow squall originating from the Lake Huron will much likely impact today’s afternoon and evening commute.

The snowfall is expected to arrive during the afternoon rush hour. Drivers are reminded to take extra time and patience on the roads as visibility can quickly change to near zero.
